Use the Force this Halloween by dressing up in Star Wars costumes ! While dressing up like the heroes of the Star Wars series can be fun, there is something deeply satisfying about being one of the antagonists. Dressing up as a clone trooper is especially fun for kids eager to enter into battle. Captain Rex costumes allow trick-or-treaters to do just that. These Star Wars costumes are designed for the young movie enthusiast eager to prove his ability as a galactic warrior.
Captain Rex looks exactly like Jango Fett and with good reason: he is one of Jango Fett’s many clones. Like many other clones, Rex was specifically bred by the Galactic Republic to fight in the clone wars, against the separate factions in the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). The CIS wants to leave the Galactic Republic.
Rex is assigned to fight under Jedi Anakin Skywalker. He accompanies Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to the planet of Christophsis after the CIS attacks. Captain Rex and his friend Commander Cody are left in charge of finding and apprehending a traitor. They discover that Sergeant Slick is the traitor and end up capturing him after a brief tussle. The battle is not over, however, and the droid army returns in full force to cause damage. After a round of heavy artillery, they retreat once again.
Much to his surprise, Captain Rex ends up with a Padawan named Ahsoka Tano. Through Rex’s conversations with Tano, the audience learns that despite similar appearances, each clone has a vastly different personality. This insight allows the audience to see the clones as human beings, and not just robotic weapons.
Captain Rex and Tano discover that the CIS has put up a shield generator that can deflect the heavy artillery that is so effective for the Republic. Rex is able to hold off the enemy while Tano and Skywalker disable the shield. This action allows the Republic to finish off any enemy advances.
Throughout the series, Captain Rex is involved in a number of other battles, always fighting alongside Skywalker and Tano. Often, Rex’s ingenuity and quick thinking are enough to save the Republic from disaster. This defies the audience’s expectations, as many would not have thought that a clone was capable of such original ideas.
Captain Rex costumes are perfect for toddlers who want to appear bigger and scarier than they actually are. The costume features a white, gray and blue romper that matches the clone trooper uniforms seen in the movies. The romper has a headpiece instead of a mask, as this is deemed safer for the young trick-or-treater. A great idea is for the little tike to dress up as Captain Rex while his parents dress up in other Star Wars costumes. For example, his dad could always dress up in a Jango Fett costume, since Captain Rex is Fett’s offspring (well, clone really). Other trick-or-treaters can dress up as the other Clone Wars characters, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano or Obi-Wan Kenobi. No matter how everyone else dresses up, your little one will be frighteningly adorable in a Captain Rex Halloween costume.
